.NU Domain Swedish Best of the Web Contest Winners Announced! .NU Domain web sites www.man-net.nu and www.stoppa.vandalism.nu judged best .NU web sites in Sweden from over 500 customer nominations! October 2, 2000 - Recently, .NU Domain asked its Swedish customers to nominate their favorite .NU Domain web sites. Over 500 nominations were received….and .NU staff poured through the sites to find the Best of the Best. Two categories of sites were nominated…..Best Commercial Site, and Best Personal Site…. In each category, prizes were: 1st $1000, 2nd $500, and 3rd $250. Sites were judged on content, ease of use, and overall graphic excellence. Commercial site winners were feted at the Stockholm offices of Hill and Knowlton Public Relations followed by dinner at the renowned Gondolen Restaurant.
www.man-net.nu. The site is dedicated to educating Swedish men about domestic violence towards women, and banding men together to find solutions to the problem. Www.man-net.nu is led by Bengt Estborn, a retired Stockholm physician. Second ($500) and third ($250) prizes were awarded to www.atl.nu and www.Internetstart.nu respectively. Atl.nu provides a terrific internet community and forum for Swedish farmers under the guidance of Lena Persson. Internetstart.nu is lead by Daniel Lovquist who has built an excellent internet portal focusing on worldwide news and financial information.
The $1000 Grand Prize winner was www.stoppa.vandalism.nu which is the brainchild of Martin Giles. Martin spends his life helping individuals, companies, and municipalities fight urban vandalism. Martin travels the world lecturing on the subject, and he is proud to have put his passion on his .NU web-site. Martin also received a $1,000 check from .NU Domain. Second and third prizes went to www.seniornet-malmo.nu and www.lotta-lotta.nu. Alli Reimegard accepted a $500 check from .NU domain for her site that teaches retired individuals how to use the internet. Agneta Nordin accepted a $250 prize for her site www.lotta-lotta.nu which supports a children's book she wrote by the same name. These are just a few of the people who have put their passion on a .NU web site!
